Terms & Conditions

Who you are booking with, what a price covers, who has the final say on the mountain, and what each of us is responsible for.

Last updated

  1. 1. Who you are booking with

These terms apply to trips arranged with Rinjani National Park, based at Senaru, Bayan, North Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara. You can reach us on WhatsApp or at [email protected].

A trip is arranged in conversation, not through a form on this site. Nothing on these pages is a contract until we have confirmed your dates and you have paid the deposit.

  2. 2. Prices and what they cover

Every package page lists what is included and what is not, with the group-size bands written out. The price you read is the price we work from.

Prices are per person and depend on your group size and the package grade you choose. A price can change before a booking is confirmed — once it is confirmed, the price we confirmed is the price.

The national park entrance ticket, trekking insurance, licensed guides and porters, meals, and camping equipment are included unless a package says otherwise. Personal gear, tips, and anything listed as excluded are yours.

  3. 3. Booking and payment

A 25% deposit confirms the booking, with the balance paid as our team instructs. Nothing is paid on this website and we never handle your card.

  4. 4. Cancellations, changes, and refunds

The deposit, what happens if you cancel, what happens if the park closes a route, and how refunds are processed are all set out separately.

  5. 5. Your fitness and your health

Every package page states plainly what the route demands. The summit routes reach 3,726 m and are not suited to beginners, to anyone prone to altitude sickness, or to anyone uneasy with heights.

Tell us honestly about your fitness, any medical condition, and any medication before you book. We would rather talk you into the route that fits than have you turn back on day two.

You are responsible for arriving in the condition the trip you booked requires.

  6. 6. Who decides on the mountain

Your guide has the final say on the trail. They may change the route, postpone a stage, or end a trek when weather, trail conditions, or your condition make going on an unacceptable risk.

This is not a commercial decision and it is not negotiable in the moment. Following your guide's instructions is a condition of joining the trip.

  7. 7. What you bring and what you leave

Each package lists the gear you carry yourself. Porters carry the food, water, and camping equipment; your own pack should stay under about 5 kg.

Carry your rubbish out. The park is the reason the trip exists, and the guides will not leave waste behind on your behalf.

  8. 8. Insurance

Trekking insurance for the national park is included in the package. It is not a substitute for your own travel insurance.

We strongly recommend comprehensive cover for high-altitude trekking, emergency medical treatment, evacuation, and trip cancellation before you arrive in Lombok.

  9. 9. Things outside anyone's control

Volcanic activity, weather, forest fire, earthquake, an official closure, or a government decision can stop a trip going ahead. Where that happens, the cancellation policy governs what follows.

We are not liable for costs you incur outside the trip itself — flights, hotels, onward travel — when a trip cannot run for one of those reasons. This is what travel insurance is for.

  10. 10. Photographs and content on this site

Photographs, itineraries, and written content on this site belong to us or are used with permission, and are not for reuse without asking.

Weather, trail conditions, and wildlife sightings described here are what we typically see. They are not promises; the mountain decides.

  11. 11. Complaints

If something goes wrong, tell your guide at the time where you can — most things can be put right on the spot. If it cannot, message or email us and we will deal with it.

Nothing in these terms limits any rights you have under consumer protection law.

Ask before you pay a deposit rather than after. We would rather spend the message now than have you read a term you did not expect.
